Other trades like carpentry, electrical, sheet metal, insulation will be incorporated if instructors/facilities are available. Essential skills training is part of our trades sampler (math, document use, communication, etc.). Link to details:  https://www.uapicbc.ca/programs/govt-training/itc/ Link to application form: https://www.uapicbc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/ITC-Intake-Form.pdf. After the 6-week program, participants select a trade – either for further training (Foundation program) or to work as an apprentice. If they choose a Red Seal construction trade, PIC will do their best to secure funding to sponsor their tuition at a union training facility (provided the student is punctual and has a good attitude). Part of the program involves investigating options for after the program. Participants cannot be full-time students (so people graduating in June are eligible, but not current grade 11s). It is preferable for interested people to come to an info session 10 am on May 22 or June 12 (register at 604.540.1945).
